A teaming agreement between LINE Communications and US based Turtle Rattle Learning (TRL) aims to address some key defence training issues.
Both companies have been working in defence training for over 10 years and have worked together informally for several years to apply the MoD’s training transformation and optimisation agenda.
Keith Downes, director and defence lead at LINE said: "With LINE's capability in designing and implementing learning architectures, blended content development and in particular consulting in training transformation, coupled with TRL's work in developing an active learning instructional methodology (ALIM) welding pilot project at the Royal School of Miltary Engineering (RSME), we are well placed under this teaming agreement to address some key Defence training optimisation issues."
The ALIM methodology encourages independent problem solving and team working to solve organisational challenges under instructor direction as appropriate. Under the agreement LINE and TRL are teaming up to provide the strategies and specialised, pragmatic media to enable the "active learner" and the instructional staff who coach them to achieve early and highly consistent competence.
Jim Lacey, president of TRL said: "ALIM is a learner-centric, precision learning approach to instructional design which leverages individual learner differences and enhances problem-solving strengths to achieve high levels of performance against targeted workplace tasks.
“Working from proven models in a broad range of vocations, LINE and TRL are reducing risk and ensuring realisation of benefits to the organisation and the individual worker alike."
