Concerns over internet bandwidth and online security are the two biggest issues that suppliers of cloud based work solutions need to address according to a new study from Towards Maturity and REDTRAY.

When asked about the barriers and complexities that prevent learning and development (L&D) professionals from adopting cloud based technology in the workplace, over half (52%) anticipated problems resulting from bandwidth issues and just under half (49%) cited potential security threats as the “major” barriers most likely to deter the cloud’s roll-out across the workplace.

Vicky Jones, managing director at REDTRAY, said: “The facts, figures and evidence that underpin the case for the cloud may no longer be disputed within the industry, but the clear signal that this study sends out to suppliers is that more proof of the cloud’s technical competence still needs to be communicated across the wider workplace.

“Whether perceived or real, our industry needs to respond to these technical concerns louder and clearer.”
