E-learning development company Brightwave is hosting a free e-learning event aimed at UK public sector HR and L&D specialists. The event called ‘Delivering change with e-Learning’ is taking place on 16 September at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
The event includes case studies and sessions from Gill Bhatti, chair of the Clyde Valley Learning & Development Group and Paul McGhee, leadership and development manager for the City of Edinburgh Council, two of the 40% of Scottish Councils that Brightwave says have signed up to its local government e-learning service. Sky’s Head of Talent Development Operations, Kenny Henderson and Brightwave’s director of e-learning services, Lars Hyland will also lead presentations.
Charles Gould, managing director at Brightwave, said: “Councils are currently facing incredibly tough conditions, with huge spending cuts, job losses and the danger of low morale. During these times, it's more important than ever to deliver effective development and training programmes to support and deliver this change. Sharing key services across councils, such as e-learning training programmes, is one modern method to help improve those development programmes whilst keeping costs down.
Gould added: “We hope that this one day event will help not only local authorities, but all public services across the country meet their new budget targets.”
