An advisory board made up of 20 individuals from the world of learning has been set up to help the Institute of IT Training (IITT) decide its strategic direction following the management buy-out from the National Computer Centre (NCC) in February.
The board will meet four times a year, either virtually or face-to-face. At the first meeting, later this month, the board will discuss the Institute’s recent consultation initiative.
Headed by Institute chairman, Donald Taylor, the board includes a range of learning and development professionals along with a broad representation of Institute members. While initially all board positions have been filled by appointment, half of these will be open for election by the membership in June 2011.
Colin Steed, the Institute’s chief executive, said: “We’re delighted to receive this expert advice for the Institute. The advisory board is one of a number of initiatives currently underway to gather stakeholder opinion as widely as possible. The Institute is in a wonderful position and as we go forward we must ensure that we take the right route. The advisory board will help us do that.”
