IMC (UK) Learning’s updated learning management system is now available as a software as a service solution(SaaS) as well as on license. CLIX 2010 was developed in consultation with customers who use the system and with reference to recent software ergonomics research. The company claims to have completely revised the design of CLIX 2010 and says the updated LMS is easier to use and offers new service features. The SaaS rental model enables companies to access IMC learning applications on the internet, allowing small and medium-sized companies with limited IT resources to use modern software solutions while concentrating on their core business.
Professor August-Wilhelm Scheer, founder of IMC said: “Learning management processes are perfect application scenarios for cloud computing as the use of learning technologies is often orientated around on-demand need. This SaaS model is therefore ideal for the planning, execution and monitoring of personal development measures in small to medium sized businesses.”
IMC is trying to make development cycles more flexible by offering customers ‘service packs’ that provide updated functions once a quarter rather than annually. This should enable customer requests to be dealt with more quickly, enable a more immediate response to new market developments and reduce customers' migration expenses.
