US-based Kaplan IT Learning has acquired UK company Atlantic Link. Kaplan plans to integrate Atlantic Link’s collaborative rapid e-learning authoring software into its suite of products. Kaplan said the acquisition supports its strategy of providing a variety of training products, services and solutions across a global market.

Brian Sholly, president of Kaplan IT Learning said: “This rare opportunity will allow Kaplan to expand our market presence globally and offer a much larger selection of products. Our clients are very interested in creating professional training lessons for soft skills as well as IT application training, so bringing Atlantic Link on board will help meet their needs. Atlantic Link’s products are highly reputable around the world and have won numerous industry awards. We plan to expand this success to further meet the needs of Kaplan’s global customers.”

No financial details on the acquisition have been disclosed. Atlantic Link has been expanding into the US for the last two years.

Mike Alcock, managing director of Atlantic Link said “We are delighted to become part of Kaplan IT Learning. With Kaplan’s financial strength and credibility in the training and academic world, our customers and prospects will gain access to a broader range of current and future products and services. Our complementary product suites will offer our customers a complete solution for all of their e-learning needs, with the strength and reassurance of the Kaplan brand behind them.”
