Not-for-profit education organisation LSN has acquired the learning and e-solutions provider Learning Resources International (LRI). The acquisition – which the organisation claims will strengthens its e-learning capabilities– combines LRI’s 14 years’ experience of providing integrated e-learning solutions with LSN’s 25-year track record of supplying services to the further education sector and elsewhere.
LSN claims that as well as complementing their strengths in the public sector, the alliance will strengthen their positioning and activities in the private sector and international arena.
According to LSN this is the third in a series of strategic acquisitions designed to enable the organisation to offer its clients a more comprehensive range of services. LSN has also recently acquired FE Associates, a supplier of interim managers in the further education sector and Connections (Oxford), a business leadership and development organisation.
Pete Bennett, managing director of LRI, said: “LRI has spent several years developing and referencing a wide range of integrated e-learning solutions. This opportunity to join the LSN network gives us the potential to build on the solid foundation we have developed in the e-learning and blended learning sphere.”
John Stone, chief executive of LSN said: “We are delighted that LRI has joined LSN. We share similar values and a vision for making learning work for organisations and their people. Their activities in sectors new to LSN will enable us to accelerate the expansion of our activities.”
