LINE Communications has been contracted to assist with the development and implementation of Jaguar Land Rover's global dealer learning strategy.
The challenge is to put in place authoring, content and learning management processes and tools that enable the learning & development team to deliver a tailored service to showroom and workshop staff employed in the company’s network of 75,000 dealerships operating in 130 countries.
A learning management system has been up and running since the autumn, as has a global publishing system designed to provide a single platform through which Jaguar Land Rover's network of learning content authoring companies can develop and distribute training. This also paves the way for training managers around the world to localise global content and enables subject matter experts to develop and publish their own material, underpinned by a single quality assurance process.
The next challenge for 2010 is to move to a content production and delivery approach that enables learning and development managers in the UK and in the markets to address training needs as soon as they occur, whilst maximising cost savings.
The transformation of the learning systems has been achieved by close collaboration of LINE’s consulting practitioners with Jaguar Land Rover's implementation suppliers, Redware Ltd and Mohive Ltd.
Steve Ash, LINE's sales and marketing Director said: "Our relationship with Jaguar Land Rover now goes back several years. We are able to develop a clear understanding of Jaguar Land Rover's vision for developing a dealership and provide very practical advice and support on the best way of achieving it.”
