Fundraising E-learning Company WIN Entrepreneurs Award

A small business that trains fundraisers has been named ‘Best Home-Based Business’ of the year at the North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2009 Awards.

Louise Germaney, owner of e-learning organisation Fundraising Skills UK Ltd, was a North East Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award finalist and category winner for ‘Best Home Based Business’.

Judges praised the “innovative small business” which trains staff in the education, charity and sport sector across the UK, and has also trained fundraisers based in Nigeria and Bangladesh through web based courses. Over 1000 schools, sports clubs and charities have benefited from Fundraising Skills expertise, resulting in a positive impact on their career as well as the level of fundraising income for their organisation. 

Di Gates, Chair of the Award organisers WIN, said: “Louise has taken accredited e-learning to a new level and exploited new technology to create a substantial home based business. Fundraising Skills is a small business employing specialist fundraising consultants, offering a range of accredited e-learning courses on proven fundraising techniques.”
