E-Learning Awards FAQ

• How do I enter for an Award?

  There are 2 stages of entry to the E-Learning Awards:

   

  1. Register your entry by completing the entry form.  The cost of entry is £125 plus VAT per entry.  The deadline for entries is 29 June 2012 .  All entry fees are non refundable regardless of whether a final submission is made. 
  2. Make your submission.  There is no form to complete but you are strongly advised to read the helpful hints on the How to Enter page.  Once your submission is ready simply email it to us.  The deadline for submissions is 31 July 2012.

  
  You can make as many registrations in as many categories as you like.  Each individual entry costs £125 plus VAT and all entry fees are non refundable. 
  
  Please ensure you have read the terms and conditions below before registering your entry.  By registering an entry into the E-Learning Awards you agree to adhere to these terms and conditions.

• How do I make a submission?

  There is no submission form to complete and you are free to structure your submission as you choose.  The judging panel has put together some helpful hints which you may find useful.  You should also follow the criteria for the category you have chosen.   
  
  Your submission should be no longer than 2000 words, including any summary and appendices, and should clearly set out how your entry meet the criteria for the selected category.   
  
  It is essential that we receive your submission in electronic format so that we can pass it to the judges.  Therefore please email your submission to us.  
  
  You should also ensure that you include all your contact details (and those of your client where appropriate) so we can easily contact you.
  
  The deadline for submissions is 31 July 2012.
  

• What is the cost of entry?

  Each entry costs £125 plus VAT.  You can enter in as many categories as you wish.  All costs are non refundable.

• I am not based in the UK. Will I be charged VAT?

  Yes.  It is a UK requirement that we charge VAT at 20% on all entries and tickets and tables sales regardless of country of origin.  This is because point of sale resides in the UK.
  
  If your organisation is not based in the UK and is VAT registered, you may be able to reclaim the VAT.
  

• Can I enter into multiple Awards categories?

  Yes.  Each entry costs £125 plus VAT.

• When is the deadline for entries?

  The deadline for registration of entries is 5pm BST on 29 June 2012. 
  
  The deadline for submissions is 5pm BST on 31 July 2012. 

• Can non UK organisations enter?

  Yes.  The E-Learning Awards is open to everyone.

• What Awards are offered?

  There are 17 Awards.  Click here to find out more about the categories and criteria.
  
  In 2011 39 gold, silver and bronze awards were given out over 16 categories.

• Are any of the categories new?

  There are two new categories this year:
  
  

  • E-learning design of the year

• When is the shortlist announced?

  The shortlist will be announced at the beginning of September.  If your organisation has been shortlisted we will contact you direct as soon as possible and certainly in good time to arrange for presentations.
  
  We will publish the shortlist on our website and also in the September and October editions of e.learning age.
  
  

• When will the presentations take place?

  If your organisation is shortlisted in a category that requires a short personal presentation to the judging panel, these will take place in September or October 2012 at a venue in London.  We will contact you direct with your allotted date and time.
  
  If you cannot present in person, it may be possible to arrange an online presentation.  This must be arranged and agreed with the organisers and judges beforehand and must take place within the allotted judging days.  Please contact us for further information once your entry is shortlisted

• Who selects the winners?

  The judges are selected by an independent panel of judges chaired by Tony Frascina.  All categories are judged rigorously and independently.

• When are the winners announced?

  The winners will be announced on Thursday 8 November 2012 during the awards gala evening at a 5 star venue in London. 
  
  The shortlist will be announced at the beginning of September 2012.

• How can I book a place at the Awards Ceremony?

  Table and ticket information will be available shortly for the awards gala evening on 8 November 2012. 
  
  Tables and tickets have sold out very quickly in previous years so be sure to book your space as soon as possible.
  
  

• Is there a dress code at the Awards ceremony?

  Yes.  The evening is a black tie event.

• What is the format of the awards evening?

  The evening will begin with a champagne reception, followed by a 3 course meal.  The awards ceremony will be staged after dinner and we anticipate the ceremony will conclude at 11.00 pm.
  
  After the ceremony there will be further entertainment into the night, together with a cash bar which will be open until 2.00 am.
  
  

• When were the E-Learning Awards introduced?

  The E-Learning Awards were introduced in 2005 and have more than trebled in size.

• Who organises the E-Learning Awards?

  The E-Learning Awards are organised and presented by e.learning age.  They are judged by an independent judging panel chaired by Tony Frascina.
