e-learning, which is why we think it's important to keep up to date with what the heads of the industry having been saying recently.
Here you will find a mixture of quotes and comments that relate to the latest pressures, topics and news in e-learning and web 2.0:
Why would a major e-learning programme get a disappointing response? Clive Shepherd puts it down to the ‘same old story’ of the e.learning product being entirely unsupported, self-study with largely textual and uninspiring content which was introduced mainly to save money.
"Only the most motivated and independent learners can sustain prolonged periods of self study. All of which brings us back, of course, to blended learning."

Dave Pollard comments on learning and knowledge failures resulting from different generations of worker’s inability to connect. He has recently encountered “two groups of people who need something from each other, but they don’t talk, and probably can’t talk each others’ language……..They need a bridge, a way to connect.”
Dave goes on to express concern that because of the way the younger generation now share/find information within their own social network most young people will learn from peers not mentors. “How much of what senior people know will never be learned by younger workers.” Could the major incidents of the last decade, including the current financial crisis, all ultimately be knowledge management failures? If so what is the “cost of not knowing”.
